Labor Day is a commemorative date honoring the labor and social achievements of workers throughout history. It's celebrated in many countries around the world, including Brazil, always on May 1st.

The history of Labor Day dates back to the late 19th century, when a labor movement in Chicago, in the United States, fought for better working conditions and an eight-hour workday. On May 1, 1886, countless workers held a general strike across the country, demanding these changes.
However, the strike ended in violence when several workers were killed and many others were arrested or injured. The event became a landmark in the fight for labor rights.
Similarly in Brazil, Labor Day was officially established in 1925 by President Artur Bernardes. Since then, the date has been celebrated annually as a day honoring workers and their fight for better working conditions, fair wages, and social and labor rights.
Labor Day is an important date that recognizes workers' achievements and struggles for better working conditions and social and labor rights. It's an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and the future challenges that still need to be faced.
It's also an excellent opportunity to run activities that spark a sense of belonging and increase employee engagement.
With that in mind, we've selected a few internal marketing action tips for you to put into practice at your company, check them out:
Throw a party: Organize a party for your employees. It could be a lunch, a picnic, or a happy hour. This will give them the chance to get together and celebrate.
Use the occasion to reward your employees for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. You can offer cash prizes, bonuses, or even a certificate of recognition.
Offer a wellness day during the workday: consider offering wellness services for your employees, such as massages, yoga, or meditation. This can help them relax and recharge.
How about using technology to make these actions easier? Check out tips below on what to do using Corporate TV and the Corporate App:
Run a photo contest: Ask employees to submit photos related to work or their daily routine, and display the best photos on Corporate TV and on the Corporate App. This can be a great way to engage employees and encourage participation.

Organize a quiz: Create a fun quiz related to work or the company, and invite employees to participate through the Corporate App. Display the questions and correct answers on Corporate TV.
Finally, you can livestream a leadership message to all of the company's branches and areas through Corporate TV, just as Atlas Copco Group did at its event celebrating the company's 150th anniversary.
