April is marked as the month of Easter, a celebration of Jewish origin, but observed by most people regardless of religion.
The origin of the word Easter comes from the Latin "Pascha", derived from the Hebrew "Pessach/Pesach", meaning "passage". It represents the freedom of the Israelite people from slavery.
01Use Easter to build engagement between the company and its employees.
If well leveraged, commemorative dates can bring great results for internal marketing and internal communication actions. During these moments, employees tend to be more willing to take part in activities proposed by the company, which improves interaction and engagement between teams.
Check out this article for tips on how to run Easter actions with the ideas we've put together to celebrate Easter at the company.
1. Egg hunt
This type of action is very common in in-person settings and can be done by companies with employees working 100% on-site. But did you know it's also possible to do this digitally and include employees who work in a hybrid or remote setup?
Just follow these steps:
• Choose an internal communication channel, such as Corporate TV (digital signage) or the Corporate App, intranet;
• Select a few announcements to "hide" these eggs in;
• Ask employees to search for and note down which pieces of content have the hidden items.
To encourage interaction, arrange — depending on the available budget — a chocolate basket or breakfast to reward the employees who find the eggs. The rules for choosing the winner can be customized however you like.
2. Charity Easter
Charitable actions are always welcome! The tip is to create a partnership with an institution or NGO, where your company's employees can sponsor a child and gift them Easter eggs, for example. If the company has time available, invite the NGO for a video call so they can talk about their mission, giving employees a chance to get to know them better. Remember to encourage employees to help with clothes, shoes, or food, depending on the institution's needs.
3. Drawing contest
How about including employees' kids in the fun? Ask employees to draw the "Easter egg of their dreams" together with their kids, then send in the drawings so the communication team can add them to the digital signage lineup and keep them running throughout April.
4. Easter on Corporate TV
Finally, internal communication and internal marketing actions will only achieve the desired success if they're delivered through appealing communication. To make that happen, make full use of Corporate TV. Some of the things you can do include:
-
- An Easter quiz;
- A message board;
- Messages of hope;
- Fun facts about Easter;
- You can also download the animation we produced, which we're making available for free. Download it in the form below and share it on your communication channels.
